The shops mechanics are some of if not the best in Spartanburg. I had issues with my MDX that one of the service techs immediately diagnosed with startling accuracy. These guys are a 10/10

I had a shop in Savannah install a Jasper transmission, and it failed as soon as I got back to Spartanburg. Cook?s was able to work with Jasper and they helped me with the warranty, got a new one quickly and had me going again in 4 days. Great work. Great communication. I recommend them.

The guys over here are amazing at what they do. Super polite and professional and make sure they go above and beyond for the customer. I brought my truck in from an hour and a half away. They pulled me right in for a DOD and converter programming and had me out of the door in 30 minutes. Very impressed with their knowledge and professionalism! I took my 2015 Chevy Silverado to them and not only did they rebuild the transmission they explained to me why the transmission failed in the first place. A+++++ service and in a timely manner too! Love the guys at Cooks. Took my 2020 F 150 to them that needed a new transmission. The guys got the transmission ordered, called me when it was in and got me in and out in 2 days. Today they reprogrammed the TCM to prevent future failures to my 6I80e Transmission and also did an oil change as I was overdue for one. I have been using this shop and their sister shop advantage for the past 2 years and they do a phenomenal job every time. As a female, I feel like they talk to me as a person and tell me the truth about what is going on with my Truck. (Unlike other shops I have been to that see me as a female and automatically assume I know nothing about trucks and try to scam me out of unnecessary things). They are always very thorough and take their time. Both shops continue to exceed my expectations. If you are looking for a nice family-owned shop in the area that isn't run by a major corporation this is your go-to place. This shop treats you like family and their customer service is one of a kind.

I am a mechanic in the most known national automotive multi-care company. Dillon called and spoke with me regarding a customer's drivability concern, wherein I diagnosed and repaired customers vehicle. 3 months later an additional drivability concern / issues occurred resulting in the customer visiting Cook's Transmission. There were previous existing issues with the customers vehicle. I diagnosed and repaired the issues and explained more in-depth mechanical possibilities that were of a base engine concern. I was referred to Cook's Transmission Services by my son and also by my car service center for possible transmission problems. After a very thorough exam, I was happy to hear that this was not the problem. However, my car was diagnosed by Cook's to have a problem with my engine misfiring and referred back to the service center to be fixed. The employees were super friendly, and there was no charge for this diagnosis, just a firm handshake. I highly recommend!!

I was stranded 500 miles from home in Spartanburg. I put my truck in park, shut it off, and it started rolling. On top of that, it wouldn't start. All of this on a Sunday night. I read reviews here and talked to a friendand decided to give Cooks a try. It's Tuesday and I'm driving my truck. I can't say enough about these guys. I called and left them a message Sunday and had my truck towed there. Monday afternoon they already had it on the lift and found the issue (shift linkage broke). They ordered the part after talking to me Monday afternoon and had it finished Tuesday morning. Service doesn't get any better than that. And they guys were friendly and top notch. If I'm ever in need of transmission work in Spartanburg, they will have my business.

When i took my 1990 Buick in, It took a couple days longer than expected to get my car (because the parts are hard to find for something that old) , but when i got it back it was in tip top shape. Runs like a champ. And when i had trouble with my cruise control only a week later, they fixed it for free. Would definitely recommend these guys!

Wow! I am amazed at the wonderful customer service that I always receive at Cook's. Tim has been so helpful in resolving my car troubles. Whenever I have called, he makes time to sit and listen to me (which can take a while), then gives me his unbiased and professional opinion. I took my VW Jetta in for a transmission rebuild and I got in back earlier than the competition and with a more affordable bill (plus better warranty). In addition, if I experience any car troubles, I make sure I call Tim because he refers me to the right people and will even have my car inspected for me. So grateful for their help!!

after calling a lot of shops and getting 1500. quotes for transmission repair i had no reverse. cooks said bring it in they would check it for free when they called i expected bad news but instead they said it was fixed and was just a linkage problem and even better they didnt even charge me for the work,being a women i always feel like i am being taken advantage of by my lack of automoblie knowlage what a pleasant experiance thank you cooks for a great experiance and will always recemend your shop

Spartanburg Chapter of National Federation of the Blind took in their chapter van and upon review of problem at Cooks transmission where they accurately diagnosed what our problem with our van was. We authorized them to do the work to our van and when we returned to pick up our van we asked what the charge was and they told us there was no charge due to the fact that we are a not for profit group for the blind. They did an exceptional job and we as the local NFBlind chapter greatly appreciate their generosity to us and the community.
